However, since I first read the book, I’ve had a few reservations about the way it portrays Stoicism. It’s written in a very readable and accessible style and has many good ideas and interesting personal observations. It’s a good book and one I frequently recommend to people who are new to the subject and interested in learning about Stoicism, but who lack a background in academic philosophy.
